Private Trader Chat

Can I upload images to the chat?

No, but you can paste the web address of an online image. Imgur.com is a great free resource to upload images. You can also use a free ScreenCast account. Screencast is integrated with Snag-It so it's fast to grab a screen shot and click a button to upload it to screencast, then paste the url in the chat room.

Is the private trader chat only for the paid membership?

No. The community is participation based. You can purchase a membership for a small fee, or you can also get access to the private trader chat by:
  • Being a non-private trading group leader or assistant leader
  • Being a subscriber to one of our experts
  • Currently receiving one-on-one mentoring
  • Being a Round Table speaker in the previous six months

Will the chat web address change? I'd like to bookmark it.

It shouldn't. We may use a shortened url but the url in the main menu of the members site will always have the current address of the private trader chat. If you don't see the "Chat Room" menu item, you are missing the tag that allows access. Please contact support@capitaldiscussions.com to enable it.

Web Site

I changed my password but I can't login now. What do I do?

Clear your web browser cookies and web browser cache, then try again. This nearly always solves the problem.

How do I change my password?

Click on the "Profile" link in the upper right corner.
You'll see a password field and a confirmation field below it. If you fill these two fields in and click on the green "Update" button, your password will be changed.

What is my forums login?

The forums are a separate web site at http://forums.capitaldiscussions.com/. It is not linked with your members web site login.

How do I update my contact information?

At the top of the web page, you should see the "Profile" link.
On that web page you can make changes to your address, phone numbers, email addresses etc.

The first email address is the email address we will send automated messages to. The first phone number is the first one we will attempt to contact you with first.

How do I play a WebEx ARF file?

WebEx's Advanced Recording Format(ARF) is a proprietary format. You have to download and install the ARF player to your computer.
The advantage of using the ARF player is that you can see the presenter's screen and the chat with the ARF player.
To download and install the player, go to this web page: http://www.webex.com/play-webex-recording.html

I can't see the entire screen during a live session. What can I do?

Right click on the shared desktop and select "View" then "Auto-fit".

Can I attend a live meeting on a mobile device?

Only if it is a WebEx "Meeting." WebEx "Events" are not compatible with mobile devices. Capital Discussions uses WebEx Events for the majority of live sessions.

Do I have to pay WebEx?

No! Only Capital Discussions staff will host meetings. You never have to pay WebEx to watch live or recorded meetings or events.
